Phoenicians, as we're called, are a conglomerate of people in which a vast majority did not originate locally. Arizona is a very popular destination for retirees and anyone looking to escape the harsh winters from around the Country. We have dozens of major employers and sunshine over 300 days a year. Because we are such a hot bed of re-locations, it's not uncommon to go long stretches of time in between meeting someone new who is actually from the Phoenix area. It can seem as if everyone here is from somewhere else. Heck, even I'm from Michigan originally although I moved here in 1995...read more.

What I learned in Real Estate this week
No matter how long you're in the business of real estate you never stop learning. Partially because the industry never ceases to shift and change itself. Contracts and forms are always being tweaked by attorneys to cover more grey areas. Markets are constantly shifting up and down. New laws are passed by elected officials causing us to be ever ready to adapt. This week I learned to go over the basics of a transaction even when it's not your job or industry. In any real estate transaction I typically let the lenders, title company, and other agents do their respective jobs without infringing on their way of doing things...read more.
Animals of the MLS
You don't have to be a pet owner to appreciate a funny or candid photo of an animal in their environment. I've always found that the MLS can provide some great humor while you're looking at homes for clients. Over the years I've saved a pretty large number of great pictures that I've come across that can either show a pesky pooch who was just being curious or a fed-up feline annoyed at the presence of the agent in the room. I have so many of these now that I thought it would be great to start picking one every week to brighten everyone's day...read more.
Who says Millennial's are lazy?
The market in Gilbert, Arizona for homes under $200,000 is unbelievably competitive. Houses in the price range within striking distance for first time home buyers are snapped up as quickly as they come up for sale. It can be a struggle to get your buyer in to the home for a showing before the homeowners already have a handful of offers in hand. It takes an agent that keeps their thumb on the pulse every single morning and makes themselves available even at inconvenient times of day just in case that right home shows up on the MLS. I am happy to be that agent who will fight for my buyers to get them the house they want, in the area they want it, and at a price they can manage. I closed on a home today with my client Jesse who most people wouldn't take a second look at when it comes to thinking he can afford to be a homeowner...read more.
