Homes for sale in Gilbert, Arizona - June 2015 Market Report

The Gilbert, Arizona housing market had it's first drop in Active listings for sale since February 2015. There were 1,177 Active homes for sale in Gilbert in June 2015. The number of New houses in Gilbert being put up for sale also saw a bit of a slow down in June. There were 651 New houses put up for sale in Gilbert in June as compared to only 615 New houses that came to the market in May. However, the number of Sold homes had another good increase in June. Gilbert had 636 homes sold in June versus only 492 homes that were sold in May.

What do all these numbers mean for buyers and sellers? It's a little surprising to see the number of Active listings and New houses coming to market show signs of a slow down this time of the year...read more

What I learned in Real Estate this week - 7/12/15

If you've been in the real estate industry long enough you know the old adage, "there is never a dull moment". Contractual agreements will be disputed at the last minute threatening an entire transaction. Home inspections will find major structural issues not foreseen by either the buyer or seller. As a real estate agent for over 17 years, I could write a novel on the kooky and wacky situations I've walked in to upon entering a home that's for sale.

However, there are times when normalcy can take the wheel and lull you in to a slumber. You will hit stretches of highway that are smooth with no real impediments or difficulties to overcome. There are times when all seems right with the world around you and it seems as if the universe may be providing you a reprieve from the burdens and aggravations that life and business can so often hurl at you...read more

Animals of the MLS

Last week the Fourth of July fell on a Saturday so the weekly Animals of the MLS post took a backseat to a more holiday specific and patriotic blog post. Back from it's week off this week's Animals of the MLS post takes a look at a rather sad and subdued family friend. This poor guy seems pretty bummed about something. His ears are down and floppy. His posture doesn't seem too eager to play or approach the agent taking the photo. Maybe he just got yelled at and kicked out of another room just prior to the agent needing a photo of this one. Perhaps his feelings are still hurt about being relegated to the bedroom while everyone else gets to roam free throughout the house...read more

How to Respectfully Disagree with Others

If there's one thing in this world we have all come to know first hand it's that we won't always get along with everyone. Whether it be friends, neighbors, co-workers, bosses, or complete strangers, inevitably we will come across situations where two or more parties do not see eye-to-eye. You may have laid out every conceivable fact in the most easily understood, logical manner but the other party simply refuses to give an inch or at the very least concede that they may not be completely correct.

Social media, blog comment sections, and on-line forums give ample opportunity for differing opinions and allow individuals an instant outlet to readily disagree with content they deem inaccurate...read more
